HEALTHY OBESITY DOES NOT EXIST Posted on august 21, 2016 by DrBPTyagi New research published online in the Annals of Internal Medicine suggests that the concept of “healthy obesity” is a myth. While some individuals with obesity may not have any immediate signs of metabolic issues like high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol, they are still at an increased risk of developing these conditions over time. The study found that even those who appear to be metabolically healthy but are obese still face a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and premature death compared to those with a healthy weight. This highlights that obesity, regardless of the presence of metabolic disorders, remains a significant health risk and emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy weight for long-term well-being.
