Constant exposure to loud noise can cause frequent sensory neural hearing loss. A person who is exposed to noise levels greater than 80 decibels over long periods is at a significantly higher risk of developing hearing damage. This type of hearing loss occurs due to damage to the inner ear’s hair cells, which are responsible for transmitting sound signals to the brain. The risk increases with the intensity and duration of the noise. Common sources of harmful noise include loud music, construction sites, and traffic. To protect hearing, it’s important to use ear protection, like earplugs or noise-canceling headphones, and reduce exposure to high-decibel environments. Early intervention and regular hearing check-ups can help prevent further damage and preserve hearing health.
