NAVRATRA: TIME TO EAT BUCKWHEAT FLOUR

Navratra is the time when wheat flour is omitted from the diet and substituted with buckwheat flour (kuttu) or other gluten-free flours like singhara (water chestnut flour). This dietary change is in line with the religious and cultural observances during the festival, which involves fasting or eating specific foods that are considered pure and sacred. Buckwheat flour is a great alternative as it is rich in fiber, antioxidants, and essential minerals, making it a healthy choice for those observing the fast. It is used to prepare various dishes like kuttu ki puri, kuttu ka paratha, or simple kuttu ka atta pancakes, which are both nutritious and filling while aligning with the fasting traditions.
