Tension headache, usually develops in the afternoon, causing mild or moderate pain that may feel like dull tightness or a band-like pressure around the forehead or back of the head and neck. These headaches are often triggered by stress, fatigue, poor posture, or eye strain. They can last from 30 minutes to several hours and may occur occasionally or chronically. Regular sleep, hydration, stress management, and relaxation techniques can help prevent or reduce the frequency of tension headaches. The pain is generally steady, non-throbbing, and not aggravated by physical activity. Although not disabling, it can significantly affect daily productivity and quality of life. Regular sleep, adequate hydration, stress reduction, eye care, and good posture can help in prevention. Over-the-counter pain relievers may offer temporary relief, but chronic cases might require lifestyle changes and medical consultation.
