Improving the quality of sleep is an important step in preventing the onset of type 2 diabetes. A study recruited five groups of participants who were provided with interventions to improve their sleep, including cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia, sleep hygiene education, and relaxation techniques. The results showed that participants who improved their sleep quality had significantly better insulin sensitivity and lower blood glucose levels. The study emphasized the link between poor sleep and insulin resistance, highlighting that prioritizing sleep can be an effective strategy in diabetes prevention.
