NOISE INDUCED HEARING LOSS(NIHL),DIWALI,CRACKERS

Near Diwali, we should avoid firecrackers to prevent Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL). Prolonged exposure to loud noises, like those from firecrackers, can cause permanent damage to the sensitive hair cells in the inner ear, leading to hearing loss.

There is a formula to calculate the time of exposure to loud sounds that helps in understanding the risk of hearing damage. The formula takes into account the decibel level (dB) of the sound and the duration of exposure:

Safe exposure time = 1000 / (2^(dB level – 85)/3)
